It’s been many more than 8 weeks and, although I got stuck somewhere in week 5, I’ve seen some good results with this program. I’ve added and increased a number foods like garlic, ginger, tofu and green tea. The walks have been harder to keep up in the winter with the cold, rainy and dark UK days, but I’m doing what I can. I have lost some weight (although I wasn’t trying to) and I have a lot more energy.

What has been life altering, are the breathing exercises and the introduction to Chinese Medicine. I have since had acupuncture and herbal treatment for menopause symptoms which has worked a dream and which I can recommend. I just went to one of those chinese doctors (a husband and wife team) in a shopping mall. They were fantastic.

I have also found a book called the ‘Complete System of Self Healing: Internal Exercises’ by Stephen T. Chang. I had heard the the eye exercises were very good. I’ve needed reading glasses for a while, but this year I’ve needed glasses for driving and my night vision is also getting worse. I’ve been doing the eye exercises for about 7 weeks. My eyes feel much better. The exercises are great for tired eyes, after work or after a long drive. You can even do them while driving. If I’ve had any improvement with my vision, it has been very subtle, but the book does say you need to do them for 3 to 6 months.

I’m also doing a few of the other internal exercises. They work with Chinese concepts like meridians and chi (energy or life force). They are easy to do and fit well with Dr Weil’s program.

Dr Weil has an online program which I may start when the weather gets a bit better.

The entertaining season is upon us! Office Christmas parties, charity events, family get togethers and maybe even a holiday in the sun – all good reasons to shed some pounds and look and feel our best for the holiday season. For many of our newsletter subscribers losing weight is a key concern so I’ve been looking around for a workable system that fits with the How2GetHealthy philosophy.

It couldn’t be about starving, calorie counting, or eating low fat or no carbohydrates. These diets don’t work for most people and many of them are simply unhealthy.

It had to be about eating healthy foods, encouraging healthy and sustainable weightloss and be easy to follow and stick with.

I came across a system that is great. Fat Loss 4 Idiots. You eat, you eat the right things and you eat them at the right time of day. It’s simple to follow, inexpensive and has a friendly, easy to understand website.

If you want to lose weight without starving and without compromising your health try this system.
